I have excellent writing and editing skills obtained over the course of my academic career (college and graduate school) and during jobs. My background is in public policy and environmental science. Most recently I’ve been working with Friends of Rock Creek’s Environment (FORCE), a D.C./Maryland-based watershed group that educates about and advocates for the Rock Creek watershed. I started working with FORCE in the summer of 2009, when I answered a call for an intern to help them redesign and create content for their website (www.friendsofrockcreek.org To create content I consulted written materials, researched on the web and interviewed National Park Service personnel. To complete the design and technical work on the site, I had to learn quickly how to use the Joomla web content management system with HTML coding.
